Anna Grishchenkova, head of the FBK Legal dispute resolution practice, took part in the English Law Week

At the English Law Week that came to the end in Moscow Anna Grishchenkova, head of the FBK Legal dispute resolution practice, acted as the moderator of the Dispute Resolution (Arbitration) section.
Within the framework of the section conducted by Anna spoke the leading lawyers of Russian and British firms: Michael Fenn, Nicholas Scott and Konstantin Astafyev.

Anna Grishchenkova also participated in the discussion on the topic of Dispute Resolution (Arbitration): case study, where the speakers were Sergey Seliverstov, Rupert D’Cruz, James Popperwell. The lawyers discussed the cases of efficient judicial proceedings strategy and tactics. Among others, a distinct algorithm was described for the actions in case of disputes on transboundary deals. The specialists spoke in detail about the countermeasures against unconscientious participants in the process and the preliminary ensuring measures to be assumed.

During the case study Anna Grishchenkova drew attention of the section audience to the specifics of today’s domestic legal proceedings, including the current court reform in progress. According to the head of dispute resolution practice of FBK Legal, the distinctive features of the country should be taken into consideration in the part of assuming the ensuring measures and, most importantly, of interacting with the police officers at the final stage of executory process, which is often forgotten about. “To have the problems solved it is most efficient to involve the Russian lawyers from the very beginning of the dispute strategy development. Only joint team actions of lawyers familiar with the specifics of all jurisdictions –British, Russian, Cyprian or other – are able to ensure effective protection of the client interests”, noted Anna Grishchenkova.
