FBK Experts on the Novelties in Taxation, Accounting and Arbitration Practice

On 27 February 2014 the FBK experts held a traditional tax breakfast for their clients.

A regular workshop-meeting consisted of three sections. In the first Nina Khudyakova, the Accounting Processes Development and Standardization Department deputy director, and Irina Kenzeeva, the department manager, made the audience familiar with some topically important issues in the field of accounting, answered the questions of FBK clients and offered a number of efficient solutions. In particular, under consideration were individual aspects of accounting for valuation liabilities related to the liquidation of fixed assets and restoration of natural resources as well as the opportunity for regular revision of the useful lives of fixed assets.

The second section was on the major changes in the tax laws in 2014—2015 Tatiana Matveicheva, head of the tax advice practice, and Natalia Ryabova, the manager, spoke about. Among the topics they touched upon were the novels in RF TC Chapters 21 (VAT) and 25 (Income Tax), new rules of computation of property levies, novelties in PIT administration, specifically tax deduction on operations with securities.
Tatiana Matveicheva also explained how the legislator proposes to calculate and collect the property levy of the cadastral value of commercial and office buildings and added that the regional authorities plan to increase the collection of such taxes by 7—15 times.

In closing the tax breakfast Galina Akchurina, the Tax Litigation Department director, and Artem Lomize, the leading lawyer, told the audience about the latest trends of tax administration and the emerging practice of tax disputes consideration in courts, and also answered the questions on the practical application of laws. The audience demonstrated high interest to the explanations given by Artem Lomize and Galina Akchurina on the taxpayer’s rights and obligations in the interaction with the tax bodies.
