A.Ermolenko, the FBK partner, took part in the panel discussion of “The state of labor market for the law school graduates”.

Within the framework of discussion on the training of specialists by the specialized higher schools of law A. Ermolenko made the report of “The modern requirements of the legal business in the preparation of young specialists” in which he presented the employers’ viewpoint on what expertise and skills the young lawyers should have in order to work successfully in their specialty. In his opinion, the legal companies welcome specialists with extensive knowledge in all fields of law and a profound theoretical background allowing adjusting to the specifics of activity of any company.

“Since besides being a practicing lawyer I am also a senior lecturer at the O.E. Kutafin MSJA says Alexander, I can look at the training of lawyers not only from the standpoint of an employer but of the higher school of training, too. It is significant to note here that it is difficult for the school to develop single standards: there is a lot of new in the world, there have been significant changes and still are under way in the field of law, new practices are under development. That means we should also progress and change our approaches”.
According to Alexander Ermolenko it is more difficult now to form values in the profession. A young lawyer would frequently face the dilemma – success in business or the value of law, which is to a great extent encouraged with the widely spread in society denial of the value of law.

Notwithstanding these difficulties a higher juridical education works for improving the quality of education, overcome the difficulties and prepare graduates that are in demand at the market, thinks the lawyer.

In the work of the panel also took part the teachers of the leading Russian juridical schools, journalists of the relevant mass media, the representatives of the Association of Russian Lawyers and the RF Federal Chamber of Lawyers, practicing lawyers form the Russian largest juridical companies.
