Advisory Council debated on the National strategy of the general public’s financial literacy enhancement

The Finance Ministerial Advisory Council discussed the project afoot under the aegis of the Ministry towards «»Promoting financial literacy among general public and financial education in the Russian Federation” on 14 December 2015. 

One of the meeting highlights was a draft National strategy of general public’s financial literacy enhancement proposed for discussion by Sergey Pyatenko, General Director of the FBK Economic and Law School.

The strategy aimed to boost the well-being of the Russian people will remain the linchpin of the government’s concerted policy efforts in the context of financial literacy initiative during the next five years.

The session participants basically welcomed the progress achieved in follow-up to the implementation of the Strategy and expressed agreement with its general direction.

Alexey Kudrin, Chairman of the Council, suggested brining the Strategy to public discussion on 1 March 2016 at вашифинансы.рф.

The FBK Economic and Law School has been developing the National strategy of the general public’s financial literacy enhancement in consortium with the Massey University (New Zealand) since December 2014 as part of the project towards «Promoting financial literacy among general public and financial education in the Russian Federation» under the joint aegis of the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
