FBK Legal’s Senior Lawyer Angelina Balakina has spoken at a meeting of the Committee on Mass Media and Information Policy of the Managers Association dedicated to amendments to the Advertising Law, which became effective on 1 September 2022.
She explained which advertisements should be registered, who are subject to the new regulation and which type of liability is envisaged for its violation.
“An enormous number of ads are published online, in particular by big bloggers. But the online advertising market was not regulated before, almost a half of the advertising market is “in the shadows”, so the main goal of the new amendments was to allow for online advertising tracking and control over online advertising and cash flows,” Angelina Balakina said.
The meeting was attended by market players, who discussed consequences of the amendments for the online advertising segment, technical aspects of their enforcement, types of ads exempt from the regulation and nuances of communication with advertising data processors.
