Anna Grishchenkova, heading FBK Legal Dispute Resolution Practice, took part in the work of the annual conference of American Bar Assoсiation (ABA) of “Commercial Dispute Resolution in Russia and CIS”.
Participants in the conference discussed a wide range of topics relating to the institutional and procedural aspects of economic law in CIS countries, legal ethics, intellectual property rights, e-justice, other pressing issues of dispute resolution and representation in court.
The most important and relevant event in this field was the integration of the RF Supreme Court of Arbitration and the RF Supreme Court. It raised both hopes and concerns of professional community about the future of the Russian judicial system. Lawyers are concerned about the consequences of that event for justice, for consideration of economic disputes and international arbitration.
Anna Grishchenkova made reports at two sections:
“The Association of the RF Supreme Court of Arbitration and the RF Supreme Court” and
“Resolution of Corporate Disputes with Taking into Account the CIS Specifics: Differences between Shareholders of Different Generations”.
“Participation in the conferences like the one held by American Bar Association
in partnership with ICC is of great practical importance as it allows specialists to share their experience gained from the implementation of own projects, to develop common understanding of the specifics of application of the commercial law”, noted
the head of the Dispute Resolution Practice of FBK Legal.
In her opinion, such conferences of experts lay the basis for creating transparent legal environment on the territories of Russia and CIS countries and the improvement of investment climate in these countries.
American Bar Assoсiation (ABA) is one of the world largest and weighty professional associations whose members are over 400 thousand lawyers and over 3500 legal firms worldwide. The Association was founded in 1878, the central offices are in Chicago and Washington.
