December issue of “The Financial and Accounting Consultations” is out

The issue presents articles of FBK specialists on topical issues of taxation and accounting, and corporate management.

In the article “About the possibility of changing the accounting policy in the middle of the year” Elena Shcherbacheva, deputy director of the FBK accounting processes development and standardization department, on a practical example analyzes the situation when the organization changes its accounting policy in the reporting period.
“As is known, the order on the approval of the accounting policy is issues at the end of the year. The accounting policy adopted in accordance with this order comes into effect from the beginning of the next year. And what shall be done if in the course of the year during the period of the adopted policy, the company finds that it can obtain more reliable accounting information by using the methods different from those in the approved accounting policy? Can changes be introduced in the accounting policy?” asks herself the author.
Having analyzed in detail the legal and professional aspects of changing the accounting policy prior to the end of the reporting period the author concludes that the company’s actions were legally valid.
