«Development of industry and growth of its competitiveness». FBK Partner Igor Nikolaev is at the round table of RIA Novosti

January 18, 2013 there was held the round table «Development of industry and growth of its competitiveness» dedicated to the analysis of the government program accepted at the end of December.

As noticed Igor Nikolaev, director of the FBK Strategic analysis Department, spoken at the event, «we shouldn`t overestimate the significance of the approved government program» as it covers only the fifth part of industry on gross value added. The economist has also paid attention to the fact that there isn`t any clarification in this program if we should aspire to compete on product price or its quality. The other question which has no answer is how there will be appeared an industry capable of self-development if the main support measure is government subsidies. «But any subsidies stimulate a welfare mentality», - Nikolaev reminded. The expert also paid attention to the fact that according to this program the Russian economy would demonstrate the stable growth. «But it`s not a fact», - the expert noted.

At the round table there also took part the first executive vice-president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Murychev; chairman of the Investment Policy Committee of the RF Chamber of commerce and industry Anton Danilov-Danilyan; member of the Public Council under the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade Iosif Diskin.
