Eduard Giulbasarov, Manager of the Transaction Tax Structuring Department at FBK Legal, has participated in a roundtable discussion dedicated to challenges, transformation and regulation in 2023, which was organised by Pravo.ru as part of the Russian Retail Week 2023, the ninth international forum for businesses and the government.
Attendees of the roundtable discussion debated about interaction between the industry and the government amid current turbulence, anti-counterfeiting measures, retail tax structuring in Russia and other jurisdictions, legal aspects of new supply chains and many other matters.
Eduard Giulbasarov spoke about tax aspects of losses from shortages. In particular, he explained when shortages may be recognised as deductible expenses and what role stocktaking plays in their identification. He also cited several court judgements as examples to talk about documentary evidence for deductible expenses.
The Russian Retail Week is a key platform for discussion of retail trends, government approaches to shaping the retail market and industry-specific problems. The forum brings together public officials, management of top outlet chains, manufacturers, suppliers, bankers, retail analysts and experts.
