FBK Partner Vladimir Skobarev spoke at the Second Annual Conference “Adjustment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Sustainable Cities to Russian Environment and Urban Development Priorities” Held at the Higher School of Economics.
Vladimir Skobarev spoke about the impact of the SDGs set by the United Nations on the development of sustainability strategies at the regional and municipal levels. “It is necessary to ensure integration of indicators used to measure progress towards sustainable development goals set by the UN into strategies, management and reporting systems of cities,” said Vladimir Skobarev.
The conference was attended by legislative and executive officials from Moscow, specialists from nonprofit organizations, scientific and educational institutions, businessmen and sustainability experts. Current challenges of Russian urban development, mechanisms and indicators used to measure progress towards sustainable development goals in Russia and application of sustainable development goals to Russian educational programmes were discussed at the conference.
