FBK at UN Sustainability Roundtable

Vladimir Skobarev, Partner at FBK Grant Thornton, has spoken at the roundtable titled “UN Sustainable Development Goals. Strategies and Opportunities for Business”.

The attendees of the event held by the Local Network of the UN Global Compact discussed issues related to the role of business in the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The participants of the roundtable were introduced to a publication with the analysis of the relevant Russian laws for compliance with the UN Global Compact. The management of the Local Network of the UN Global Compact extended their gratitude to FBK Grant Thornton for preparation of the analysis.

Vladimir Skobarev spoke about development of sustainability strategies, evaluation of business contribution to social development and the respective reporting.

There was also a discussion of the results achieved at the thirty-fourth session of the Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting held in Geneva in the beginning of November at which Vladimir Skobarev represented FBK Grant Thornton. “Suggestions made at this session will inevitably form the basis for the world non-financial reporting practice. I believe that they should be taken into account by the Interdepartmental Working Group of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia when drafting minimum requirements for public non-financial reporting ,” Vladimir Skobarev underlined.
