FINAWARD, one of the most well-known and respected awards in the banking industry, has celebrated its 10-year anniversary this year. The award is given for the development and implementation of state-of-the-art digital technologies in the financial sector, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, cloud solutions etc.
For the first time, award ceremony organisers engaged an independent auditor to verify voting results back in 2019. Since then, FBK has annually checked the votes of the award expert council that consists of over 100 market experts.
"The banking sector is sensitive to the accuracy and transparency of any information. So at a certain stage it became an important step for us to have award results audited by an independent expert in order to enhance its authority and status. Being a leader in professional services to the financial sector, FBK is well aware of its nuances and it turned out to be the best candidate for us to fill that role," says Dmitry Ravkin, the publisher of the Banking Review journal and the chairman of the FINAWARD organising committee.
"I want to thank FINAWARD organisers for this privilege of auditing award results. It is embedded in our corporate DNA to constantly improve our audit knowledge and skills, and expand expertise in applying modern banking technologies. So we are particularly proud to contribute to the project that aims to encourage innovative development of the financial sector in our country," underlines Irina Konstantinova, Senior Manager of the Department of Assurance and Advisory to Financial Institutions at FBK.
"We closely monitor digital transformation processes in the banking sector and try to respond accordingly by implementing new audit technologies. The fact that the award organisers trust us shows that we are moving in the right direction," adds Alexey Karpushkin, Head of IT Audit and Consulting at FBK.
FINAWARD is sponsored by the Banking Review journal. The thirteenth award ceremony has been attended by more than 400 guests. Awards were presented in 14 categories. Banks and companies also received 24 prizes out of competition. VTB Bank received nine awards, the biggest number this year, followed by Alfa-Bank with eight awards. Sber and Tinkoff received five prizes each. All award winners were represented in such categories as bank- and middle-office implementations and solutions, front-office products and services with Skolkovo fintech stratups awarded separately.
