FBK Delivers Seminar for Gazprom Energoholding

Date of publication
07.10.2022

The International Financial Reporting and Assurance Department, the Accounting Advisory Department and the Department of Audit and Assurance for the Oil and Gas Sector of the FBK audit and consulting group have held an interactive seminar on recent changes in the Russian accounting legislation and International Financial Reporting Standards for the Gazprom Energoholding Group.

FBK’s experts explained the most complicated aspects of new standards — RFAS 6, RFAS 26 and RFAS 25 — for which there are no off-the-shelf solutions or simple answers, and clarified how to disclose information in 2022 financial statements to be compliant with these standards. In addition, the experts shared their insights into impairment of non-current assets under IAS 36. A special section was dedicated to changes in International Financial Reporting Standards that become effective on 1 January 2023.

Ksenia Shirikova, FBK’s Partner, Evgenia Popova, a Senior Manager of the Accounting Advisory Department, Alexander Matyushin, an Associate Director of the Valuation Department, and Julia Grishina, an Associate Director of the Department of Audit and Assurance for the Oil and Gas Sector, spoke at the seminar.

“We are more than happy to take part in the events of that scale on a regular basis. This was the first time for us to apply state-of-the-art interactive methods to communicate with the audience, so that all participants have a chance to share their opinion on the proposed topics. In a live offline discussion we also talked about all pressing matters and suggested ways to tackle them. We had to engage many FBK’s experts — auditors, advisers, methodology experts and valuers — who worked together to prepare the seminar. It was held in full compliance with the client’s expectations,” says Ksenia Shirikova.

The seminar was attended by chief accountants, as well as managers of departments in charge of RAS and IFRS financial reporting at the Group's management company, subgroups and subsidiaries (Mosenergo, MIPC, TGK-1, OGK-2, REP Holding, and Gazprom Teploenergo). Overall, about 40 people participated in the event.
