The International Financial Reporting Department in collaboration with Assurance & Audit in Oil and Gas Sector of FBK audit and consulting group conducted an interactive seminar for the Gazprom Energoholding Group. The session focused on complex aspects of applying IFRS 9 ‘Financial Instruments’ and explored the practical use of AI in audit work.
Ksenia Shirikova, FCCA, Senior Partner at FBK, and Julia Grishina, Partner, Deputy Head of Assurance & Audit in Oil and Gas Sector were featured as speakers of the event.
The seminar delved into the most challenging areas of applying IFRS 9 ‘Financial Instruments’, specifically the accounting for issued financial guarantees and obligations to provide loans at below-market interest rates, which require complex judgements and assumptions. FBK specialists also shed light on the evolving role of AI, explaining why it will not replace auditors but will be part and parcel of our daily workflows. They demonstrated this by showcasing AI's responses to nuanced accounting questions.
‘Every year we are thrilled to participate in such a high-profile event. As before, we used modern interactive tools to gather audience opinions on the proposed questions. Winners were identified at the end of the session based on the highest number of correct answers. The session was not only fruitful but also fully complied with our client's high standards,’ – Ksenia Shirikova said.
