The Accounting Advisory Department, the International Financial Reporting and Assurance Department, and the Department of Audit and Assurance for the Oil and Gas Sector have delivered an offline interactive seminar for the Gazprom Energoholding Group and shared their insights into difficulties associated with changes in accounting laws effective from 2022.
FBK Grant Thornton’s experts explained how to apply new Russian accounting standards that still lack generally accepted solutions and unambiguous answers. In addition, they spoke about transition to new standards and the ways to make bookkeeping closer to IFRSs.
Partner Ksenia Shirikova and Lead Consultant Evgenia Popova were the key speakers.
“This was our first offline event of that scale because of existing restrictions. We felt the importance of that format, as a live offline discussion allowed us to answer all questions from the client. We had to engage many FBK Grant Thornton’s experts — auditors, advisers, methodology experts and valuers — who worked together to prepare the seminar. It was held in full compliance with the client’s expectations,” says Ksenia Shirikova.
The seminar was attended by chief accountants, as well as managers of departments in charge of RAS and IFRS financial reporting at the Group's management company, subgroups and subsidiaries (Mosenergo, MIPC, TGK-1, OGK-2, REP Holding, and Gazprom Teploenergo). Overall, about 40 people participated in the event.
