Maya Savitskaya and Alexey Karpushkin, Managers of the Department of Assurance and Advisory to Financial Institutions, have spoken for students obtaining MBA in digital banking and finances and those obtaining MBA in business, accounting and law at the Finance and Banking Faculty of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The topic was risk management and management of an IT department in 2021. Alexey Shindin, the President of the Moscow branch of ISACA and the author of the Russian version of COBIT, spoke about COBIT integration.
Maya Savitskaya mentioned new risks arisen amid the COVID-19 pandemic, “All new and modified risks, in particular, cybersecurity and IT risks, are incorporated in business continuity plans prepared by companies,” she said.
Alexey Karpushkin and Alexey Shindin focused on principal IT risks, the language that business should use to communicate with IT and the reasons why COBIT methodology has been developed for businesspersons, rather than IT experts. “Audit and advisory make it possible to ask the IT department the right questions and draw its attention to business objectives and goals,” Alexey Karpushkin added.
The experts made speeches as part of the course on information technologies given by Alexey Katrich, an Associate Professor of the Finance and Banking Faculty of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. This is the first step for cooperation between the faculty and FBK Grant Thornton.
