Sergey Shapiguzov, the President of FBK Grant Thornton, has participated in the forty-eighth Tatur-Sheremet Readings, an international scientific and practical online conference organised by the Faculty of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Self-Regulatory Organization of Auditors Association “Sodruzhestvo”.
Sergey Shapiguzov spoke about how audit firms can attract young talent and noted that becoming an auditor is not a random choice — auditors are always people with a specific analytical mindset. So they do not need any additional motivation.
“Employers face a challenging task to create a competitive environment for personal and professional development of young specialists. So that those who have already made up their minds would choose your firm. Our employees have worked for FBK GT for decades and often come all the way from a secretary or an assistant to the head of a department or even to a partner,” he said and added that firms that want to achieve the same need to arrange special programmes to unlock the full potential of new hires.
A scholarship named after Anatoliy Sheremet that is sponsored by FBK Grant Thornton has become one of the instruments used to search for young talent. A winner of the competition for the right to receive scholarship was announced at the conference. It is Dmitriy Kuksenko, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
