FBK GT’s Expert Holds Investigation Workshop for Russian Investigative Committee

Alexander Sotov, the Head of the Financial Investigation Practice at FBK Grant Thornton, has held a workshop for students of the Academy of the Russian Investigative Committee.

The workshop for employees of the Investigative Committee with the respective education and experience was dedicated to the investigation of crimes committed with firearms. The attendees were shown firearms that are widely used in crimes (PM, TT, Nagant revolver). Alexander Sotov paid particular attention to trace evidence at crime scenes, gave practical recommendations on primary investigative activities and cited real life examples.

“The underworld is armed with firearms, while we have only a notebook and a pen. But combined with knowledge and professionalism, they are not less effective,” Alexander Sotov said.
