FBK Holds Budgeting Seminar in the Republic of Belarus

FBK Grant Thornton and Grant Thornton Belarus have held several business meetings and a seminar on results-based management in Minsk. These events were held within the framework of the Joint Project of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus and the World Bank “The Public Financial Management Modernization in the Republic of Belarus”.

During the seminar FBK consultants presented their findings based on the analysis of state-run programmes of the Republic of Belarus, a review of international practices in medium-term budgeting and recommendations on how to incorporate international best practices. The seminar was attended by the officials from the World Bank, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy and sectoral ministries of the Republic of Belarus.

Head of Public Sector Advisory at FBK Irina Dubinina said that the seminar attendees were willing to arrange other similar events. “This is our first business trip to Minsk and several more will follow. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, we have established the contacts important for our future work,” Irina Dubinina said.
