On 17 April 2025, Vladimir Skobarev, Partner at FBK audit and consulting group, took part in the session “Reporting Standards: From Discord to Harmony” at the Bank of Russia’s Spring School “ESG, Sustainable Development, and Climate Change.” The session also featured speakers from the Bank of Russia, the National ESG Alliance, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and the Committee on Integrated Reporting. In his report, V. Skobarev analysed the prospects for implementing IFRS S1 and S2 sustainability disclosure standards in the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Skobarev commented:
“Over the next three years, the majority of Russian companies will continue to apply GRI standards. Some Russian firms – particularly those with experience in SASB disclosures and TCFD recommendations – will adopt a ‘cautious’ approach to implementing IFRS S1 and S2 standards.”
The intensive training program, organised by the Bank of Russia and the HSE University Graduate School of Business, ran from 16 to 18 April. It targeted students and postgraduate researchers from Russian universities across all disciplines and academic levels who passed a competitive selection process and sought to deepen their knowledge of sustainable development and climate change issues.
