Maya Savitskaya, Manager of the Department of Assurance and Advisory to Financial Institutions, and Ivan Roshchupkin, Senior Information Security Expert, have published an article titled “How to Evaluate Data Quality in Information Systems under Regulation No. 716-P and Why it is Important” in the Internal Control in Credit Institution journal.
That regulation issued by the Bank of Russia introduces extensive requirements to information system risk management and data quality management for credit institutions. However, banks need to develop necessary procedures from scratch, which is difficult both in terms of methodology and technology. The authors explain how to start evaluating data quality in information systems, which procedure to adopt, how to evaluate data from external sources and which standards to apply.
