FBK’s Partner Vladimir Skobarev has moderated a plenary session of the Twenty Third International Conference titled “Traditions and Novelties in Modern Russian Law” held as part of the Tenth Moscow Legal Forum at Kutafin Moscow State Law University. The plenary session was dedicated to the relevant context of sustainable development. The FBK Group was represented by FBK Legal’s Head of Practice Valentina Polyakova. The plenary session was also attended by representatives of the UN Global Compact Local Network, the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Agency SGM.
Valentina Polyakova spoke about legal aspects of the implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and shared findings of the research conducted in 2021-2022 as requested by the UN Global Compact Local Network to identify key issues and approaches for authorised executive bodies of the Russian Federation and courts related to the impact of business on human rights.
“Sustainability matters are becoming an inseparable part of professional qualification in various scientific and practical fields. I am glad to see that it has become the key topic both for the Tenth Moscow Legal Forum and our plenary session. The speakers managed to point out global, national, regional, corporate and legal aspects of sustainable development,” Vladimir Skobarev says.
