FBK Grant Thornton has completed penetration testing of the information system for a big Russian bank. Possible cybercriminals’ actions were simulated for this purpose.
Alexander Chernenko, Head of IT Risk Assurance at FBK, says that though actual overall security at credit organisations is increasing, products from third-party developers which banks have to use often appear to have critical vulnerabilities.
“Such vulnerabilities, in their turn, may compromise the whole information infrastructure of an organisation, that is why it is obvious that such products should be tested for security before implementation,” Alexander Chernenko says.
