On
3 February the
FBK auditing and consulting company, “Russia 24” TV-channel and the “Vedomosti” newspaper begin a new joint project -
How much is Russia: 10 years later - within the framework of which the country’s economic potential will be assessed.
For the first time such analysis was carried out by the
experts of FBK in 2004. At that time the consolidated cost of all sectors of the domestic economy was estimated to an amount of RUR 974.7 billion or USD33.6 billion.
Today the new project provides for an opportunity not only to calculate the current value of all Russian industries, agriculture, construction, transport, trade, finances and other sectors, but also to monitor the changes which took place over the last decade.
Within the next few months the assessment of all major economic activities will be carried out. Every week you can find the results for some or other industry on Mondays – on the “Russia 24” TV channel (“Economics. The course of the day”) and on Tuesdays in The Vedomosti newspaper, and, beginning from February 4, on the special site of
skolko.ru.
“The project is really unique. It will allow of analyzing the reasons why some or other changes in the economics of Russia took place and drawing attention to the future sources of growth” says
Igor Nikolayev, the FBK Institute of Strategic Analysis director heading the project research section.
