Earlier this week, FBK Consulting LLC once again ranked first among valuation firms for business and securities valuation in a list compiled by RAEX. In a follow-up interview, FBK Managing Partner Igor Churkin reflected on the 2025 results in the industry, outlined key trends shaping the market, and gave his take on what lies ahead.
Despite a shrinking consulting services market, 2025 turned out to be one of the most successful years for the company in terms of valuation, which was largely driven by an increased share of large, complex mandates. The resilience of the practice came down to three things: a diversified portfolio, ties with major institutional clients, and a strong team that the company managed to retain and strengthen amid a talent shortage.
‘AI will, in my view, significantly reshape the landscape of the market – high-volume valuation work may become fully automated. In that scenario, the main competition will shift toward complex, high‑risk assignments, where professional judgement is non-negotiable. For us, this is perhaps one of the most exciting challenges we’ve seen in years, and we are here for it,’ he added.
