Last week in Moscow a regular meeting of the Commission on Business Education under the Russian Managers Association (RMA) was held where the representatives of educational centers, employers and experts involved in the processes of educational institutions ranking discussed the issues of ranking for business schools.

RMA Commission Chairman Sergey Pyatenko, FBK Partner, the Economic and Law School General Director, presented his report of “The ratings of business schools as a market forming factor”. He pointed out in his speech that the rating of business schools is a tool intended to make landmarks and form the market. “The rating should be objective, independent and meaningful for those who study and for those who teach. It should be formed on the basis of the least controversial parameters of assessment. And there may be several ratings but it is important that their criteria reflect essential aspects of the business education process,” explained Sergey Pyatenko. He also added that the most significant factors were still to be identified: Who and what for business schools train? How is it connected with the line of business of the client-enterprise? What influence does it have on the trainee’s career?

“The ratings of educational institutions are under the discussion everywhere in the world, not in Russia only. Foreign experience should necessarily be used, but the domestic achievements should not be forgotten either”, summarized the FBK Economic and Law School General Director.
