FBK’s consultants have arranged an international conference dedicated to best practices for financial consumer protection in the digital economy. A Report on the Status of Financial Consumer Protection in 2017 was presented on the first day of the conference. Senior Manager of FBK’s Public Sector Advisory Department Marina Abramova says, “For the second year in a row the conference has been international and brought together many Russian and foreign experts. It’s the sixth report that we have prepared with Rospotrebnadzor and we are glad that it is in demand not only among more and more professionals, but also among financial consumers”.
The conference was attended by officials from the Russian Ministry of Finance, Rospotrebnadzor and the Bank of Russia, the Russian financial ombudsman, representatives of the banking community, non-governmental consumer organizations and national regulatory bodies of the CIS, as well as representatives of the World Bank and UNCTAD. The attendees learnt about the interaction between financial consumers and financial organisations using digital channels and discussed the potential application of best practices in Russia.
