The Value of Russian Industry Lowered by Half over 10 Years – “How Much is Russia”, the study of FBK Company

The
FBK Institute of Strategic Analysis proceeds with publishing the results of the study of
“How much is Russia: ten years later” carried out by the FBK consulting and auditing company together with the “Vedomosti” newspaper. That section of the study is devoted to the Russian industry.
On analyzing its cost characteristics on the whole and by individual branches the
FBK experts arrived at the conclusion that Russian industry as at the beginning of 2013 could be valued at 699.6 billion roubles (in price values of 2012), i.e., over the last 10 years the total value of industry in comparable prices reduced by two times.
The researchers point out that as compared to other developing countries the Russian industry growth rates remain to be low. So in the Rosstat’s list Russia by this indicator is in the 14th place out of 34.
At the same time according to the data of the
FBK Institute of Strategic Analysis and Rosstat, today the industry makes its greatest contribution to the production of the gross added value (GAV) in the domestic economy – 29.6% or 15.6 billion roubles in nominal terms by the results of 2012.
The authors scrutinized thoroughly the sector key indicators for the past decade, in particular, the production growth and structure, profitability of products, the state of fixed assets and other parameters.
