Sergey Shapiguzov, President of FBK, took part in the Grant Thornton International «Growing together: global strategy-2020» event which took place in Athens. The conference was dedicated to a roadmap for development of advisory business up to 2020.

The participants, including global high-ranking managers, member firms managers as well as representatives of the network major clients, all came to a common conclusion that the expertise of employees and client-specific approach towards provision of advisory services are the pillars of sustainable development of the network.

As explained by Sergey Shapiguzov, despite diversities rooted in economic biases of a given country, there are common trends in the development of advisory firms across the world.

He went on to say, «We in Russia are living through a structural economic recession. The advisory services market is dwindling in monetary terms. Still, the cornerstone of the business stability lies in the expertise and experience of our employees, insight into the sector specifics, focus on a broad reach of services which best meet our clients’ needs, and this is where all member firms agree».

The FBK President mentioned the positive experience of the Greek member firm which amid the challenging economic turbulence in Greece has been able not only to strengthen its position in the market but also put competitive pressure on the largest sector players.
