FBK Representing Russia in the List of Best Companies for Women

Within the framework of an international study conducted in 14 countries of the Asia-Passific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum FBK was included in the list of companies recognized as the best for working women.

A great number of companies from the USA, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam took part in the study jointly conducted by the APEC Women and the Economy Partnership, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan in collaboration with Washington CORE and Mizuho Information & Research Institute analytical companies.

FBK was nominated for participation in the study on the suggestion of The Committee of 20 Non-Profit Partnership – the association of businesswomen – the leaders in different areas of business. The initiative of The Committee of 20 gained the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The aim of the project was to mark the contribution of women to the advancement of entrepreneurship and growth of empowerment in taking managerial positions. Specifically, a number of world best practices were taken as an example to demonstrate the purposeful work of business to reveal women’s potential.

The study highlights FBK’s successful experience of creating comfortable environment for women who combine work and social functions, of opening the opportunities for career growth, through the acquisition of new professional competences as well, and of promoting education both within the company and externally.

“Women traditionally occupy the key positions in the company’s management and play a significant role in its functioning. Since 2002 we have been actively putting into reality the initiatives to promote women’s leadership. That activity has yielded results and today in our company 64% of specialists and the majority of managers are women,” notes Elena Proskurnya, FBK First Vice-President.
